May River Capital Completes Acquisition of MECA Solutions

August 9, 2016 — Private equity firm May River Capital, an investor in lower middle-market industrial growth businesses, has completed its acquisition of MECA Solutions (“MECA”) ( Terms were not disclosed.

MECA Solutions represents the first acquisition that will form a new engineered products platform by May River. Paul Schulz, a member of May River’s Executive Resource Group, will serve as Executive Chairman of the platform. This is the second May River investment platform involving Schulz, whose prior career included leadership roles with Webex and Packaging Corporation of America.

MECA, based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, is a manufacturer of tight tolerance sleeves, machined components, and rolls used in the packaging, flexographic printing, and web converting sectors.

Johnson Bank provided senior debt financing in support of the recapitalization. Northstar Capital provided mezzanine debt financing and co-invested equity in support of the recapitalization. Paul Hastings LLP served as legal counsel to May River and its investor group, while Davis & Kuelthau, s.c. served as counsel to the Company and its shareholders.
